Highway 1 Conditions

Highway One is currently open, with ongoing emergency operations taking place in response to the Timber Fire approximately 25 miles south of Carmel.

Please use extreme caution if traveling in the Big Sur area and yield to any emergency vehicles. For the safety of our First Responders, use alternate routes if at all possible.

Some Big Sur businesses are currently closed due to evacuation orders, so make direct contact before making plans to visit a specific destination.
